The Bald Builders Win Silver at the ARIAS… Again!
The Bald Builders and team headed to the legendary Roundhouse in Camden for the 2026 ARIA Awards and somehow, two working-class Bald Builders who spend half their lives covered in dust and dirt walked away with SILVER for Best Music Breakfast Show on Fix Radio for the second year running!.
And yes… we turned up in a Transit tipper.
No chauffeur.
No blacked-out Mercedes.
No pretending to be something we’re not.
Just a proper working van parked outside one of the biggest nights in UK radio.
And honestly? That sums us up perfectly.
From Building Sites to the Biggest Stage in Radio getting changed in a premier inn car park its just what we do!. Supporting the boys on the night their family Sam's Girlfriend Keeley, Brads Wife Rhi and there two eldest kids Char & Teddy.
A few years ago, the idea of being recognised in the radio industry would’ve sounded ridiculous to us.
We’re builders first.
We graft.
We laugh.
We take the mick out of each other daily.
And somehow that chaos has connected with thousands of tradespeople up and down the country every single morning.
To be standing in a room full of some of the biggest names in broadcasting is something we’ll never take for granted.
Especially when you realise who beat us…
Beaten by a Legend of BBC Radio 1 Host Gregg James
Last year we picked up Silver in the same category.
Gregg is an absolute legend of the industry and one of the best breakfast presenters in the country. To even be mentioned in the same sentence as shows like that is mad to us.

Radio isn’t just the voices you hear on air.
Behind the scenes, our producers Demi and Travis work unbelievably hard to make the show what it is.
From the ridiculous games…
To the panic five minutes before links…
To somehow controlling the daily chaos…
They deserve huge credit for this award too.
This silver belongs to the whole team.
A massive thank you also has to go to producer Jack, who was the one that first gave us our shot in radio and helped guide us to where we are today. Although he’s a big dog at Fix Radio now and isn’t involved in the daily madness of the show as much anymore, he’s still a huge part of this award journey — and he also produced the award entry itself. Without Jack believing in two builders chatting nonsense on the radio, none of this probably happens.

It wasn’t just us celebrating either.
Fix Radio also picked up Bronze for Station of the Year, which shows just how far the station has come.

Competing against some of the biggest broadcasters in the country.
That’s something everyone involved should be proud of.
